SURE Hierarchy

SURE defines a hierarchy of entities to structure the project database:

  • Project: It is the highest ranked entity, all the other entities must belong to a Project. A Project represents, in most cases, the contract or agreement between the infrastructure final owner (Employer) and the construction supervision company (Engineer).

  • Contract: A project can have any number of contracts. In SURE a contract must be understood as the construction contract signed between the Employer and the construction company (Contractor) that is supervised by the Engineer.

  • Site: Every contract must have, at least, one construction site. SURE expects a site to have a budget, that can be managed independently of other sites in the contract. Contracts can have as many sites as needed.

  • Original Budgets: For SURE, each site should have an original budget, usually the budget signed in the construction contract. All the Original Site Budgets form the Original Contract Site Budget.

  • Budget Chapter: For easy data visualization, a site budget can be divided in chapters (i.e. Civil Works, Mechanical Works, etc).

  • Construction Objects: SURE allows the users to create Objects in a Site. An Object can include Elements from the Site Budget that are in different Budget Chapters. Construction Objects allow to closely follow up the developing of some Site’s sections.

  • Elements: They are the smaller entities in SURE. Elements represent each line in a site budget that includes a construction executable item to be paid.

  • Variation Orders: VO is a change in the original contract that can modify the final construction contract budget or the construction end dates.

  • Interim Payment Certificates: For each Site SURE accepts as many Interim Payment Certificates (IPC) as needed. An IPC can be added using Excel© files and SURE will manage all the information, including adding and removing versions, the approval processes, etc.

  • Reports: SURE creates and manage reports that can be defined for all the project, sites or even elements. Standard formats for Non Conformity, Daily Weather reports and other reports are included. Reports can also be grouped by elements, sites, days, etc, making the daily site report an easy and fast task.
